  1. This pose is so much better than the standard one.

  2. Nice work, John. Though I look at the model and keep thinking “Khaaaaaaan!” :)

  3. Great looking paint and repose. I may have to disassemble Megalith and repose him. Thankfully not painted yet.

    Thanks for sharing!

  4. Thanks everyone for the nice comments on the repose. I am NOT a repose god, but when I opened the Megalith box, it just spoke to me and said “Hey…I am trying to do you a favor here…repose me.”

The key to the repose is that the hips are nothing more than a round rod through a hole. No machine work needed. The rock was a polished rock on a magnet…the magnet is still attached and served as a shim under the rock so I didn’t have to carve up the base..lol

The arms were the only machine work required. On that, all I had to do was use a cutting wheel attachment on my Dremel and cut a slot 90 deg from the one that is in the arm from the factory. YOu have 3 choices of how to machine the slot, so you have some flexibility.

Initially, this model was going to be a full conversion that included Megalith holding a tree trunk with two tire swings holding Mannikens in the tires. I just didn’t have the time to finish it, but Mega turned out cool. Since this picture was taken, I washed the wood down a touch with a wash made of 3 parts brown ink and one part red ink. I was trying to simulate the chestnut ink that Gdaybloke is so fond of.

    :-)
