Cantor’s Commentary:
I have never really given Kaya a fair shake, even though she’s the first one I got, so I decided to use her as one of my warlocks for this challenge. She’s also one of the lowest costed warlocks in the game, allowing me to really fill out with warbeasts. She really excels as an assassin, but I’m worried that she lacks the staying power to hold on until she can make a finishing move. Her spell list is pretty good for lower-pointed games, I think. Cloak of Mists will protect one model from shooting, which should be enough in Mangled Metal/Tooth and Claw. Rager should see some use, since I anticipate a lot of power attacks being used in this scenario. It also turns a Warpwolf into an engine of destruction, headbutting the enemy before unloading with all those attacks.

The Woldwatcher is difficult to fit into most lists, being the highest-costed light warbeast in Circle, but I think Kaya is inexpensive enough to make up for his inclusion. Also, Vigilance is a warlock’s best friend in small games like this. He’ll be a nice bodyguard for Kaya.

I haven’t played too many games using a pair of Warpwolves, but I know that one often isn’t enough. They’re pretty devastating on the offensive, and their high DEF means they can evade most unboosted ‘jack attacks. Regeneration and Reactive Warping should help me keep them fully functional, until Kaya can bring the endgame herself.

Orboros is stirring.

Valrus’ Commentary:
I just recently picked up some Cygnar after winning second place in a Steamroller tourney that netted me a battlebox. I figured I would just play that, but I really liked how Jeremiah Kraye ran jacks well and there just wasn’t enough points in that box. So replacing three of the four models, this is what I ended up with.

The Sentinel, I expect, won’t do a ton of damage, but with it’s high volume of shots and Guided Fire I can rain lots of shots into the usually more squishy warcasters and warlocks. The Hunter and Ironclad can handle the heavier targets, I hope.

With Kraye giving my jacks Cavalry rules I expect I can keep them out of danger and get in extra shots on the charge. It is a heavily range focused army though, hopefully that works in my favour.

I went with a standard cygnar scheme of colours. My last faction was a pretty crazy scheme and I wanted something a little more basic. My challenge this time is to try and replicate the studio schemes as best I can. So Cygnar blues and golds for this team.
