They did it!

Well, how about that for twelve shades of awesome? Other than mirroring the art as we’d seen it, Privateer managed to spit out a model that’s pretty darn close to the raw awesomeness of the art we’re seeing on the cover of NQ25!

This is the kind of niftiness I’ve come to expect from Privateer’s scultping crew – somehow they manage to sculpt up the amazing art so darn well. I confess I get kinda disappointed sometimes when the sculpts aren’t direct reflections of the art, but then they come back around again and bring us something as awesome as this.

Brava, Privateer, Brava.

garryth2I spun the 360 out of interest to get a look at the back of the model, and was interested to see this picture.

What immediately struck me was the two glowy bally knobby things near his right shoulder.

While Iosan warcasters clearly don’t rely on the same armour conventions as those of the Iron Kingdoms, I have to wonder of these two spheres perform a similar function to the warcaster furnaces… or maybe they’re just aesthetic.

Still no explanation as to what happened to his other shoulderpad though ;)

  1. I like him, he the best of the trio shown so far. Still want to see the mittens model ;)

  2. Must. Have.

  3. I’m pretty impressed! The addition of a new faction is looking better and better all the time.

On another note, has anyone seen or heard from John at Getting Small?

    • I chat with him on a daily basis. I’ll nudge him for you.

  4. I am here….Getting Small is dead but Gdaybloke has kindly offered me contributor status here in the friendly confines of Lost Hemisphere. I have accepted, and I will be contributing when I have time and I have something significant to say…well…at least when I have time. LOL

  5. If you check the IK rulebook, there’s a samll section on arcanika (pretty sure of the name), which is about the equivalent of the other kingdom’s mechanika.

The Iosans use magically receptive materials wrapped in layers that constantly generate arcane charges… basically the elves have found mechanica’s equivalent to cold fusion and their jack’s (oups… Myrmidons) probably never need refuelling, nor their armour.

God i’m a nerd to know this.

  6. Yes. Yes you are. 40 lashes with a wet noodle, and I’m confiscating your Eliza Dushku posters.
