Naughty By Nature 1000pts, by Kyle
Phew! Finally we’re in the final leg of Lost Hemispheres WarmaHordes challenge. It’s been a rough few weeks trying to get everything together. Unfortunately I wasn’t able to get everything completed in the way that I wanted too as a lot of time went into my epic Warlock conversion. But it will have to do for now.

First, apologies for the delay in presenting the Wednesday WarmaHordes update – Jason has been overcome by a multitude of symptoms; he’s assured me he’ll have his list to me ASAP…
In the meantime, the debate has sprung up over at the Hobby Kingdom’s forums, about the borkenness of the Legion. Namely, are their strengths appropriately balanced by their weaknesses?
There’s people on both sides – the Everblight players vs, well, almost everyone else – so I thought I’d ramble on about it a little for your reading pleasure. Or to cure your insomnia. Whatever.
No-one’s going to deny that Legion packs a heck of a punch, that they’re offensively awesome. Their strengths are recognised (eyeless sight, flight, lesser warbeast swarms and the like), but are their weaknesses sufficient to balance the models for their points?

So apparently I’ve been having fun making banners… of different sizes… which I’ve then had to resize so they’ll all fit here… and I felt like sharing them. .. in alphabetical order based on the filenames… and I can’t be bothered putting in a cut… Yay!

One of my favourites, since I love the Daughters of the Flame and the sheer absurdity of it all just makes me smile.

Made for Lost Pal CerealJohn, blogger over at Getting Small

It ain’t easy finding art of the Guardian to work with – there’s pretty much only the one pic worth using… but damn it’s cool.

If she’s corset-clad, I would have thought she already had enough… support…

Can’t you just imagine Hoarluk as a surfer bum

For pal Rich… sponsored by Mothers Against Drunk Warcasting

Why do recruiting posters amuse me?

A larger version of the “I support” banners… but I can totally appreciate the desire to be a delicious fruit token.

Nothing like adding a little broadway class to the game.

Please, Privateer, give us a Rhoven worth fielding in Mk II!

Of course, the moment this was out there I realised I could have worded that so much better…

Lewis Carrol never imagined Shredders, I’m sure of it.

I was happy with how moody this one came out.

I’m thrilled that the Sunburst is seeing new life in Mk II!

The Testament loses the Omegus in Mk II. Not everyone was happy about that, so a banner was requested.

How can you NOT see a caber tosser as the embodiment of tough?

Beer’s like milk for trolls, right?

I need to think of a better headline for this one, one of these days.

Apologies for the delay, Paul didn’t get me his writeup in time for me to post it on schedule. Accordingly, he has been wracked.

Ninja Attack! 1000pts, by Paul
Rhyas comes back to the Legion camp barely evading death with a disappointed expression. She did not expect such skill as an assassin from someone within the Skorne empire that could even come close to rivalling her own talent. She had suffered many casualties, losing precious dragonspawn and Nyss in the battle with the Skorne’s enforcer the Lord Assassin.
Upon arrival there was already a large gathering of Nyss and dragonspawn, all crowded around Thagrosh the Messiah. She strides to the centre of the circle and that is when Thagrosh bellowed… “Rhyas you
have failed me once again! I shall take matters into my own hands”.
Rhyas stands in the circle proudly and proclaims, “what would you have me do in your absence sire”. Thagrosh replies “you will take your remaining forces and spawn more beasts with Absylonia in the north“. This would not have been such a big deal if Vayl wasn’t right at Thagrosh’s side, but the twins despised this powerful sorcerous that had
become a favourite among the Messiah’s warlocks, they did not understand her motives in the Legions grand scheme. Thagrosh continues.
“I will take care of the Skorne force while we prepare for retaliation from the dragon pact.” Ethrunbal had become one of the more powerful dragons on Immoren after swallowing Pyromalfic and absorbing his athanc and life energy. With that Thagrosh, Vayl and their beasts all began to move southeast towards the Bloodstone Marches.

Instead of Saturday Morning Reminders, you get Sunday Scribbles this week. As an ex-pat Aussie, yesterday’s Anzac Day post held more significance for me. Now, on with the show!
Do you live in North Carolina? Do you play VS? Are you attending this event? Regardless of whether you’re attending or not, do you have a functioning pair of eyes? Have you seen this bike?

Lost Associate Kardkrazy has had his beloved 2007 Yamaha R6S stolen by some unscrupulous soul. He is offering a reward for its return, you can read some details here.

Despite already providing a superb gaming experience through exquisite gaming rooms, piped-in music, clean and spacious surroundings, the staff at the Hobby Kingdom like hold special events throughout the year. You may recall CCG day. There’s also RPG day, Boardgame day, and of course, Miniatures day.
Of course, a true event is so much more than just a sale (though with savings of up to 50%, that alone is noteworthy). Todays events included a Warmachine Steamroller tourney (complete with trophies), WFB and 40K Hall of Heroes tourneys, and a Flames of War tourney with prizes including seats at the National Tourney.
Being a diligent dad, I was unable to attend the Steamroller tourney (boo-urns), but I was able to attend the VIP night last night, with beer and gaming until midnight. Twas very cool.
Anyway, you’re here to see pics of the day in general, so on with the show.

When I was a young man I carried me pack
And I lived the free life of the rover
From the Murray’s green banks to the dusty outback
I waltzed my Matilda all over
Then in 1915 my country said: Son,
There’s no time for roving, there’s work to be done
So they gave me a tin hat and they gave me a gun
And they sent me away to the war
And the band played Waltzing Matilda
When the ship pulled away from the quay
And amid all the tears, flag waving and cheers
We sailed off for Gallipoli

Subjugation 1000 points, by Scott
Lord Assassin Morghul walked into camp looking full of himself as always. Striding his way into Hexeris’ tent like he infact commanded the Skorne army in the west.
“I did not find the old man you spoke of, but I did find an interesting young woman.”
Hexeris steepled his fingers, “Do tell.”
“A Warlock corrupted by dragon blight. I slew her and her dragon spawn. I believe there to be more coming South though.”
Hexeris rose and retrieved Gulgalta from it’s stand. “Then lets us go say hello.”
Ah the 1000 point level, when the game changes a bit. Adding a second warlock can unlock some interesting combos. I’ve decided to bring back Hexeris. Although he doesn’t combo very well with Epic Morghul, I still love playing him and he’s hungry for a win after losing by a hair to Gday’s Menoth.

I’ve been planning on taking a second look at the Menoth’s Least Wanted models under Mk II conditions since the release of the rules and cards, but I hadn’t managed to get around to it – WarmaHordes is a little time consuming, there’s the Campaign for a Better Rhoven, making sig banners (some of which you’ll see below), and well, there’s that whole “job” thing chewing up time, not to mention that “family” thing as well…
… so imagine my amusement when I was sitting there this morning, putting together a list to play around with, and I realised I had not one, not two, not three, but all five of members of the Mk I MLW.
Let’s face it, Mk II makes the MLW a whole new set of models.

Jungle Drums 1000pts, by Derrick
Vayl strode imperiously into the clearing, almost dwarfed by the Ogrun flanking her, bowing slightly more then she would normally at the imposing site of the Messiah.
“Lord Thagrosh you summoned me and I have arrived with the forces you requested.” Smiling happily she added. “Are we heading against the Skorne to the southeast?”
“I had hoped to surprise you but I see your powers of divination as still strong” a crooked grin appeared to cross Thagrosh’s face.
At least, she hoped it was a grin.
