We sit there and play our card games, our minis games, our rpgs… we watch our movies, we watch our cartoons, we read our comic books…
… but how many of us have our own superpowers?
We can all think back to Marvel’s collage of mutants in the 80’s, we can mock character concepts like Eye Scream, the dude who could turn anything into ice cream… but just because the power was farcicle doesn’t make it any less of an unusual phenomenon.
For every guy who can fly, there’s a guy who can change the colour of flower petals. For every gal who can benchpress a truck, there’s a gal who can make her hair go curly.
Spider-Man gets Spider-Senses.
Me? I get Baking-Senses.
I kid you not; I work in an office with 150 people, give or take, spread over two and a half floors of the building…
… but if someone brings in cake? Brownies? A loaf of homemade bread? My subconscious will have me wandering the building at some point and I’ll come across it. I’ll be on my way from point A to point B, and for no clear reason I’ll find myself detouring, and then “Oh! Hey, who made pie?”.
Seriously. Baking-Senses. I’ve actually taken to saying “My Baking-Senses are tingling”.
