Holiday Traditions
December 26, 2008Back home in Australia, Christmas was generally the highlight of the Summer holidays. Well, Christmas and my own birthday. One of my favourite things to do in those lazy Summer days was to sit out on the back porch with my dad, doing puzzles on the picnic table.
Even though I’m now a resident of the frozen North (see the pics in the last post for evidence), some traditions are worth keeping. Even though I may not have two months off from work, there’s still time for some puzzle goodness. Behold the first victim of the holiday season.

It’s also tradition to open a single gift on Christmas Eve, this year the kids opened their gifts from my Mum. Behold them enjoying the bounty.

Here at Lost Hemisphere we’re consistently trying not only to provide quality blogging entertainment for our readership, we’re also trying to enrich lives by presenting new and wonderful ideas, concepts and opportunities for you, dear Lost, to perhaps embrace and learn from.
This Christmas, the Gdaykids enlightened us by showing us some of the myriad uses for a Cubby House constructed from styrene balls, plastic rods and a blanket.
Behold, yon cubby, dominating the GdayLivingRoom.

Not only is it a suitable place to crawl around inside…

But is also makes a very fine hatrack…

And after a modicum of maintenance…

It also makes a very fine mountain for playmobil unicorns to ascend!

So… what holiday traditions are being upheld as we speak in your own domiciles?
