MEV Previews are starting this week
And there was much rejoicing.

And there was much rejoicing.

It’s been a rough few days for VS in the Gdaycave; with the final stages of Summer of Love upon us, a lot of the impetus has drained away (“How many games do we need to get in this week?” “Two” “Oh…”), and there’s been a ramping up of Warmachine interest as Call To Arms 4 hits the Hobby Kingdom, and I finally have enough figures to participate in the league games. It’s a distraction.

Add to that my finally taking the time to watch Firely and Dr Who, and I’ve been a preoccupied bloke.
Thankfully, we’re on the cusp of MEV previews – TBS has teased us rather impressively with another piccie on Facebook, this time of an uncut, textless sheet. Card names and art are on there; clearly they need a photographer who knows how to focus a camera, you can’t read a single text name, but it’s interesting looking at all the art and speculating.
Of particular note is the return of X-Statix in MEV – I know Spud wet his metaphorical pants when he saw art of Orphan and Doop. Whether they’ll be their own team again, or dual affiliated (or even completely absorbed into, say, X-Force), who can say. Whether they maintain their self-implosion and loner strategies, again, who knows… we may well find out over the next couple of weeks.
Clone Saga is still hanging over our heads, and I’ve still got that Captain America deck assembled, and Punisher’s waiting for some more testing, but in the back of mind I’m still wondering if I’ll end up playing something else entirely… we’ve got a couple of weeks before our event, so I’ve got time for a last minute switch to, say, Dr Minerva or Black Cat.
I should also point out this thread at VSRealms, bringing our attention to Wikipedia… it would have been nice to verify its veracity, but in the end it’s rampant vandalism. As much as a new essential collection would be several shades of niftiness, I gotta say I’m not a fan – at all – of Spawn, so I’m not too upset to state that we’re NOT getting a Spawn EC.
Don’t forget, fellow Lost, TBS promised us an announcement this week… patience, grasshoppers.
