Exciting times, my fine feathered friends! With the completion of Round Three, we have our division champions, and we move on to the conference champs! Golly gosh, tis a good time to be enjoying the Summer of Love… even if the calenders officially tell us that Summer is over here in Canuckland.
The Rose Division went to Warp Factor 9, as they stalled out Task Force: Revenge for the epic Galactus Nom Nom Nom win. Amusingly, there was nothing for Galactus to chow down on, with both players being tied on 0 Endurance going into turn 9.
The Carnation Division gave us a surprise as the excessively beaty New Birds overpowered Wild & Sticky, despite a valiant stall game. The surprise wasn’t so much that the game was as close as it was, but rather that the New Gods actually feature in a deck that continues to perform well.
The Orchid Division saw Kamiza’s Family of One win over Stranger Danger as the X-Statix effects teamed with the Fantastic Four’s large stats handilly defeated the JSA/Nextwave teamup which didn’t manage to draw a single power-up effect other than Phantom Stranger.
The Calla Lily Division title goes to Adamantium Skrullmate, with an impressive turn 5 win with the 3-drop triumvirate of Ahmed Samsarra, Wolverine and Captain America making a mockery of Spud’s Looney Bin. This game also gave us the largest endurance disparity, with a 58 pt difference between the winning and losing totals.
