SoL Rnd 3: Ad.Skrullmate vs Looney Bin
September 25, 2008
Everyone’s a winner baby, donchaknow… or that’s how the song goes. We all know it isn’t true, but these two decks have proven their mettle to get to their division final. Spud’s Looney Bin exposed the sheer exhaustasticness of Julia Carpenter when combined with Arkham’s effects, while the consistency of Checkmate has made the Skrulls even deadlier with Kansashoops’ Adamantium Skrullmate
And whaddayaknow, one of the decks even features one-drops…
In a characteristic move, I (Gdaybloke) roll a 1 for initiative, leaving the choice in the hands of Spud and his Looney Bin. He opts for evens, and both players ditch their crappy starting hands in the hope of finding something better.
Turn One
Starting things off nicely, Adamantium Skrullmate actually has a 1-drop… Connie Webb, come on down! The Looney Bin doesn’t pack any 1’s, so Connie just kicks Spud in the teeth. Gently though, she only has a low ATK.
Skrullmate: 50
Looney Bin: 49

September 25, 2008Picture it. It’s 1995. I’m laying on a couch in a student apartment. My eyes are dry, I’m thirsty. The couch and cushions have developed an imprint from my motionless form laying there for six hours. My mind is reeling, jaw aching with a smirk on my lips that will take days to wear away.
I’ve been introduced to Red Dwarf.

A British series series, set on the Jupiter class mining ship, Red Dwarf. After a drive plate malfunction, the entire ship was irradiated and everyone was killed, except for slovenly Dave Lister, the ship’s soup dispenser nozzle cleaner’s assistant, who was put in suspended animation after smuggling a cat onboard.
Holly (the ship’s computer) kept the ship travelling in pretty much a straight line for a few thousand years until the radiation dropped to a level safe enough to allow Dave’s release.
