Yay! Time for more caption shenanigans! You know you love it, don’t lie to me!!!

This week, we get a little… primal…

As usual, put your entrys in the comments, and the winner gets some cards from my trade binder! (Assuming they actually PM or email me their address so I can, ya know, mail ‘em out).

No HL for me this week…

July 29, 2008

… because apparently taking the gdaykids to the circus is more important than playing cards. Who knew!!!

If nothing else, here’s a blurry taken-with-my-camera-phone picture of the performing horses, all six of whom had little feathery wings… I will say I was proud of my little gdaygirl when she yelled “Pegasuses!”. Naturally, I had to fight the inclination to correct her grammar, just for the sake of allowing her to enjoy the fantasy.

The may not be pink unicorns, but what the heck...
They may not be pink unicorns, but I hope Stu likes it regardless

Family Feud: Blondie and the Beast

July 28, 2008

Ladies and Gentlelost… um… there are some lady readers out there aren’t there? Yes? No? … Cos if it’s just us guys, I’m totally gonna let my personal hygiene go here, until Cliff yells at me… ;)

Anywhen, welcome to the final instalment of Lost Hemisphere’s Family Feud, the throw-down between the king of beats, Benjamin J Grimm, and the most untouchable woman in the Marvel Universe (unless she wants you to, of course), Susan Richards nee Storm.

Now, at first blush this may seem like a forgone conclusion - Sue specialises in bouncing beaty decks, after all… but does she have the oomph to punch back through Ben’s defenses? Let’s find out!

Sunday Night Kitchen Table Report

July 27, 2008

Seriously, I don’t know that much more needs be said… yes, I lost something like 8 games, but this one game, turn six made it all worthwhile. What’s that? Your 5-drop Apocalypse has 12 +1/+1 tokens? Okay… I pay 3 END… remove ‘em all… :)

Family Feud: Brains Aflame

July 25, 2008

Time for the penultimate round of Lost Hemisphere’s Family Feud. This time, 1-1 Johnny Storm steps up agains the brains of the outfit, the 0-2 Reed Richards.

Now, Reed’s record really doesn’t say much for his being the smartest member of the Fantastic Four, what with his being thumped by Ben Grimm and out-um…-forcefielded by his lovely wife Susan, but can he best the team’s resident hothead?

By the same token, can the 1-1 Johnny Storm, renowned for being shallow and juvenile and well, falling in love with almost anything with estrogen, take down the ultra-flexible egghead?

Read on, fellow Lost! Read on…

Alright, admit it, you missed me… you missed the chance to spout funnies at the expense of some unfortunate piece of comic art… well, here’s another one! As usual, entries go in the comments!

Radio Songs: Faith in Monsters

July 21, 2008

Banner

Ugh. My air conditioning died on Friday, and now I’m hot and sticky and uncomfortable. Short article today cuz my arms are sticking to the desk. :(

The Inmates are Running the Asylum

Today I pulled a random TPB off my shelf, and ended up with Thunderbolts: Faith In Monsters. It’s written by Warren Ellis and drawn by Mike Deodato Jr., and takes the TBolts in a new and… interesting… direction. I originally picked it up during TBolts week of the MUN preview season because I was unfamiliar with this new direction for the ‘Bolts and found it a little confusing to see actual villains on the team, and grabbing the TPB seemed like the easiest way to brush up.

Anyone remember 1967?

July 21, 2008

Picture it.

The Spectre Vol 1, Not Brand Echh, even Timmy the Timid Ghost are sitting on the stands.

… DC’s faceless objectivist, The Question, is introduced.
… We see Batman sell out  with a grand Bat-Auction.
… Plastic Man takes on Dr Dome’s Dame of Doom.
… Hercules hooks up with the Avengers for the first time.
… Marvel’s original Tarantula, Clay Riley, crosses paths with Ghost Rider.
… Dell Comics gave us their Fab Four (Polymer Polly? Seriously?)

Oh… and Gorilla Grodd fell in love in Flash #127

What does this, the Summer of Love, have to do with… well… anything?

Stay tuned, Fellow Lost. Big things are a-comin’.
