We’re bringin’ Wacky back…
January 30, 2008… We’re bringin’ Wacky back… (who?)
… Them other players think we’re slightly cracked…. (whut?)
… But we have much more fun and that’s a fact… (whut!)
… We’ll keep playin’ til we’ve got cataracts… (huh!)
Here endeth the Justin Timberlake impression.
Next week at the Hobby Kingdom’s Hobby League we’re gonna try something a little… unusual. The game, as we know it, will be altered on a turn by turn basis by cards drawn from the Mutator deck. Think of them as akin to the planets from the Galactus Big Deck, but slightly more off-kilter, more generic in their effects, and in some cases, more mind-boggling.
This is in large part the brainchild of CaptainSpud, so he gets a round of applause - and maybe a cookie or two.

Mutator VS
There is an extra phase before the draw phase every turn. During this phase, the players reveal the top card of the Mutator deck and immediately enacts its effect(s). There is no chain during this phase; players cannot play effects of any kind, and characters’ powers have no effect during this phase. The revealed mutator card is then discarded.
Mutator Deck
1. Each player KOs a resource he controls.
2. Each player puts the top card of his deck in his resource row.
3. Players cannot recruit characters or equipment, or spend resource points, this turn. At the start of each player’s recruit step this turn, that player searches an opponent’s deck for any number of characters with a combined cost less than or equal to the number of resources he controls, reveals them, and puts them in his front row.
4. Each player discards a card.
5. Each player, starting with the initiative player, tells the others how their day went.
6. Each player draws a card.
7. Attackers get +2ATK this turn. Defenders have reinforcement this turn.
8. Characters have “Activate -> Negate target effect.” this turn.
9. Each player draws cards equal to the number of resources he controls.
10. Each player discards his hand, then draws that many cards.
11. Players cannot play plot twists this turn.
12. Players cannot use payment powers this turn.
13. Whenever a player plays a plot twist this turn, that player draws a card.
14. Each player searches his opponent’s deck, hand and KO’d pile, and removes all rares he finds from the game.
15. Each player at the current table writes a number on a piece of paper. All players then reveal their paper; the player who revealed the largest number loses that much endurance and takes this mutator card. This mutator card can be discarded at any time during tonight’s tournament to generate the effect “Recover target stunned character.”
16. Players skip the combat phase this turn.
17. Roll a die (the players must come to an agreement on the side-count of the die before rolling). Each player searches his deck for a character card with a cost less than or equal to half the result of the roll (rounding up) and puts it in his front row.
18. Each player returns a card from his KO’d pile to his hand.
19. Spud must buy each player a drink from the vending machine.
20. Each player at the current table moves one seat to the left. This affects all games currently in progress at the current table.
Personally, I think I like #5 the most, though I’m looking forward to #19 coming up…

We should all give spud interweb kisses until he is all wet.
Smooch!
Have you not been reading my posts, Stuby? We have Babbymomma Carrie, Babygirl Emma and Gamerette at the tourneys… and you expect me to smooch SPUD??
Yes, I do. It will make them insanely jealous.
